Myanmar¡¯s Bloodshed in China¡¯s Party-Controlled Media
Yang Lili
Summary: Looking back at the official Chinese media¡¯s coverage of the events in Myanmar over the past 10 days, the Chinese Communist Party¡¯s dread of democratic movements is easy to perceive. Likewise, the bias in favor of Myanmar¡¯s military junta reveals the knee-jerk quality of China¡¯s policies toward the Myanmar regime. This media coverage also made it clear that the international community¡¯s hopes that China could have a positive influence on the Myanmar question would soon be revealed as pure wishful thinking.
