Facing the Responsibilities of a Great Power
--The New Direction of China¡¯s State Media

Summary: The Chinese government has yet to seriously consider the moral implications of its responsibilities as a rising world power. In theory, a country¡¯s responsibilities amount to nothing more than pursuing and safeguarding its own basic security, economic prosperity and overall development. But the responsibilities of a great power transcend its own national borders, extending into the wider world and taking on a global obligation.
